The Asociación Educativa Comunitaria San Pedro El Alto is a non-profit organization born from the educational needs of the community's families. We propose a different educational system that breaks with the usual in Antigua Guatemala and seeks to form children capable of facing the challenges of the contemporary world, using art, music, nature, and community life as pillars of learning.
Waldorf pedagogy is a holistic educational philosophy that seeks to nurture the complete development of the human being. By integrating the academic, artistic, and practical, it shapes creative, autonomous individuals with a profound sense of purpose.
Adapted to each child's developmental stages, it promotes natural and organic growth, free from premature or standardized pressures.
It cultivates intellect, emotions, and will (head, heart, and hands), fostering balanced and meaningful learning.
It prioritizes arts, music, and imaginative play as essential tools for discovery and individual expression.
Unlike traditional education, it focuses on practical experience and direct connection with the environment, moving beyond rote memorization.
We operate with two small groups, each with a maximum of 8-10 children:
The multi-grade model fosters a dynamic where older children reinforce their learning by guiding younger ones, explaining concepts and solving problems together.
Our methodology is designed for each child to advance at their own pace, respecting their individual abilities and maturity level.

We adapt learning to the needs of each student, fostering their autonomy and the academic validity of their child's progress.

"Children need passionate guides who awaken their natural curiosity"
Our teachers are the key to our educational philosophy, true guides dedicated to inspiring and nurturing the spirit of each child. Their passion and deep connection with Waldorf principles are at the heart of our educational proposal.
All our educators receive continuous training to stay updated on the best pedagogical practices, ensuring an education of excellence adapted to current needs.
Imagine a magical school surrounded by more than 12,000 m² of forest and nature where children are happy while learning:
At Colegio San Pedro El Alto, children not only learn letters, numbers, music, cooking, and how to care for nature... they learn to love knowledge, to live in harmony, and to be happy being themselves!
At our school, education transcends academics. We focus on teaching children not only to learn, but to apply knowledge and develop the autonomy necessary for life.
From changing a tire to making basic home repairs and cooking, our students acquire manual skills.
We teach children to understand the value of money, saving, and how to make responsible decisions when using it.
We foster empathy, teamwork, and a sense of community. They learn to collaborate and care for others.
Our classrooms, green areas, and creative spaces will be equipped with top-tier furniture, materials, and resources. The goal is to provide a safe, inclusive, and modern environment that supports Waldorf pedagogy and the comprehensive development of each student.
A peaceful space to encourage reading and a love for learning.
Basic and responsible cooking to foster self-sufficient individuals.
A vibrant space with various artistic tools and musical instruments for exploration and creative expression.
Hands-on experiments that awaken natural curiosity.
Children learn hands-on about nature and healthy eating.
Outdoor games and a spacious, safe garden. An ideal place to explore, play, and enjoy nature.
Over 12,000 m² of living nature within our community, where children
explore, investigate, and connect with the natural world.

At our Waldorf-inspired school, we don't just educate children; we build a community. Families, teachers, and students grow together in an environment of respect, collaboration, and a love for learning.
